Hello! We’re David and Emma Jennings, a husband-and-wife wedding photography team based in Manningtree, right on the Essex and Suffolk border.
For us, wedding photography has never been about endlessly posing couples or turning your day into a photoshoot. It’s about preserving the moments you’ll want to relive years from now, the nervous smile before the ceremony, the proud look from your parents, the uncontrollable laughter during the speeches, and the packed dance floor long after sunset.
Our style is relaxed, natural and documentary-led. We quietly blend into your wedding, allowing your day to unfold naturally while capturing all of the genuine moments that make it uniquely yours.
Why We Work Together
One of the biggest advantages of booking Jennings Photography is that you don’t just get one photographer, you get both of us. While David is capturing your walk down the aisle, Emma is photographing the reactions of your family.
While David is with the groom during the morning preparations, Emma is helping the bride with final touches, calming nerves, fluffing dresses, fixing veils and making sure everything runs smoothly.
Throughout the day we’re constantly working together, giving you two perspectives of every important moment and ensuring that almost nothing goes unnoticed. Many couples tell us afterwards that Emma felt like an extra bridesmaid and David felt like another guest with a camera, and that’s exactly how we want it to feel.
Meet David
His passion lies in storytelling and documenting. He loves finding the little moments that often pass unnoticed, the glance across the room, a proud grandparent wiping away a tear, or the laughter that erupts between friends.
Rather than directing your entire day, David prefers to quietly observe, stepping in only when needed to create relaxed portraits that feel natural rather than forced.
Meet Emma
She keeps everything calm behind the scenes, helps organise family photographs, fixes veils, fluffs dresses, keeps an eye on the timeline and is always ready with tissues, safety pins or a reassuring smile whenever they’re needed.
She also photographs throughout the day, capturing the moments happening away from the main action and helping us tell the complete story of your wedding from every angle.
Our Approach
Every wedding is different because every couple is different.
We don’t arrive with a shot list of identical Instagram poses or spend hours taking you away from your guests.
Instead, we take the time to get to know you before the wedding, understand what matters most to you, and create photographs that genuinely reflect your personalities and the atmosphere of your day.
We’ll gently guide you when it helps, particularly during family photographs and couple portraits, but for the vast majority of the day you’ll simply enjoy yourselves while we quietly document everything as it happens.

David and Emma are honestly some of the nicest people and went above and beyond all day to help make the day as smooth as possible (including Emma helping me back into my shoes before our first dance!) the photos we have back are absolutely stunning and have taken us back to the day reliving moments which they captured so perfectly! We had the most incredible wedding, and David and Emma captured it all perfectly. They were organised, easy to communicate with, and made the whole process feel smooth from start to finish. On the day, they arrived early and stayed late, quietly working in the background while somehow managing to be everywhere at once. Every request we had, big or small, they made happen without hesitation. Nothing was ever too much. And Emma? She was basically our fifth bridesmaid, always nearby, fluffing the dress, keeping things calm, and bringing great energy. True to their word, the photos landed right on the four-week mark, and they were worth every minute of the wait. We were blown away, not just by how beautiful they were, but by how well they told the story of the day. They caught moments we hadn’t even noticed happening. We’re so grateful to them.
David photographed our wedding last Saturday and we can’t recommend him enough! From the very moment he arrived, he blended into the group & began taking photos. He wasn’t in our faces or in the way at all, it all worked perfectly the whole day. We had booked him from getting ready all the way to the evening reception, which was excellent. From the first quote & booking all the way to the day, communication was brilliant. We’ve had a few sneak peaks through, just 2 days after our wedding and they’ve made us so excited to see the rest as they’re just beautiful & such good quality 😍

We had the pleasure of Jennings Photography capturing our Wedding Day. David and Emma made the planning process very easy. Firstly, we were asked to send them ideas of what we wanted, then they put together their own timeline for the day. Jennings Photography specialises in candid (non-posed) shots, which is exactly what we wanted. At the editing stage, they kept us updated. They sent a link to a couple of sneak peek shots, which got us very excited! It didn’t take long at all for us to receive a link to the full gallery of 500 photos! We made it an occasion to look through all the photos with a glass of fizz on the TV. It was an emotional experience! David and Emma captured the day perfectly from start to finish. They were very discreet on the day. We hardly noticed the photos being taken, which really made those candid shots. We highly recommend Jennings Photography!

What a brilliant photographer David is. He recently captured our wedding and did a fantastic job. We were clear that we wanted candid photographs that didn’t disrupt the flow of the day and David delivered 10 fold! We recently received our gallery from him and as we scrolled through each photo we relived the memory and joy of the day with every image captured.
