Star Wars, Vintage Vibes, and “Plan B” Perfection at Springfields
We recently had the absolute pleasure of capturing Harriet and Rob’s wedding at The Springfields Event Centre in Spalding. It was one of those days that proved, without a shadow of a doubt, that even when the British weather throws a curveball, the day can still be absolutely perfect.
The original plan was an outdoor ceremony, but the clouds had other ideas! Harriet and Rob made a swift call to move everything indoors, and honestly? It worked out beautifully. The decor was spot on, the room felt cozy, and the buzz of excitement in the air was undeniable.
Morning Prep & That First Look
Harriet got ready just across the road at the Woodhouse Farm Lodge. As photographers, we loved this spot—the room was airy, bright, and had a balcony that gave us some dreamy natural light for her portraits.
There were so many lovely moments during prep, but the highlight has to be Harriet’s father seeing her in her dress for the first time on the staircase. It was a total tear-jerker—one of those raw, emotional moments we feel lucky to witness. Once ready, Harriet was whisked away to the venue in a stunning vintage Rolls Royce (talk about traveling in style!).
The Imperial March & Garden Games
When it came to the ceremony, the couple injected some serious personality into the proceedings. Just before Harriet made her grand entrance, they played the Star Wars Imperial March! It caught everyone off guard and had the whole room laughing. It really set the tone for a day that was as fun as it was romantic.
Thankfully, the rain held off just long enough for us to sneak out into the venue’s lovely gardens. We managed to get the group shots done and capture some relaxed portraits of the newlyweds.
The rest of the afternoon was just pure chill. The kids were entertained with outdoor lawn games, while the adults relaxed on the patio with drinks. The reception party was kicked off by a talented guitar duo who kept the dance floor packed. Seeing everyone so relaxed, laughing, and embracing the community spirit really reminded us why we love this job.
Harriet and Rob’s day was a beautiful reminder that whether you are indoors or out, it’s the people (and maybe a little John Williams music) that make a wedding unforgettable.

Thinking of getting married here? It is a gorgeous spot, but here are a few “Pro Tips” from us to make your day run smoother:
Prep Nearby: We highly recommend booking Woodhouse Farm Lodge for your morning preparations. It’s super close, and as we mentioned, the lighting is fantastic for those “getting ready” shots.
- Utilize the Gardens: Even if you are having an indoor reception, make time to get out into the gardens. They are a picturesque backdrop for couples’ portraits or just for guests to get some fresh air between sessions.
- Parking is a Breeze: Unlike some town-center venues, there is ample parking here. It makes arrival so much smoother for your guests (and your vendors!).
