Wedding Photography FAQs

Jennings Photography

Which areas do you cover as wedding photographers?

We are based on the Essex and Suffolk border (near Manningtree), making us perfectly positioned to photograph weddings across both counties. Whether you are getting married at a rustic barn in Suffolk, a country manor in Essex, or planning a destination wedding elsewhere in the UK, we are happy to travel. While we specialise in local weddings in the East of England, we love capturing love stories wherever they take us.

Travel Costs: We include free travel for all weddings within Essex and Suffolk. For weddings further afield in the UK or abroad, we simply add a small fee to cover travel and accommodation expenses. Just let us know your venue, and we can provide a bespoke quote.

Is there one or two of you on the day?

We are a husband-and-wife team (David & Emma), which means you get two wedding photographers for the price of one! Having two of us allows us to capture the day from different angles—for example, one of us can capture the bride walking down the aisle while the other captures the groom’s reaction.

What is your style of wedding photography?

Our style is best described as relaxed, documentary wedding photography. We focus on storytelling—capturing real, unposed moments as they happen, from the belly laughs to the happy tears. We keep things stress-free and fun. While we do capture stunning, natural couple portraits and essential family group shots, we avoid stiff posing to ensure you spend more time celebrating with your guests and less time in front of a camera.

Do you offer packages for smaller or micro weddings?

Yes! We understand that not every celebration requires full-day coverage. In addition to our standard full-day packages, we offer flexible micro wedding packages (typically 3 hours) perfect for intimate ceremonies and elopements in Essex and Suffolk. Whether you are planning a grand celebration or a small, intimate gathering, we have a package to suit you.

As documentary photographers, do you take group photos too?

Yes, absolutely! While our heart lies in candid photography, we completely understand the importance of family history. We capture essential family group shots and stunning, natural couple portraits, but we approach them with efficiency. We won’t leave you standing around for hours; we want you back enjoying the party with your guests as quickly as possible.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

Living in the UK, we are fully prepared for four seasons in one day! Rain never stops us from getting beautiful photos; in fact, cloudy skies often provide the most flattering soft light. We always have a “Plan B” for group shots (scouted at your venue beforehand) and carry clear umbrellas so we can still get creative, romantic portraits outside without you getting soaked.

Do we need to provide a meal for you?

Wedding days are long and physically demanding, often lasting 8–10 hours, so we do ask that a hot meal is provided for us during your wedding breakfast. We usually eat at the same time as you and your guests (since no one likes being photographed while eating!), which ensures we are refuelled and ready to go for the speeches and evening party.

What is my next step to book Jennings Photography?

To secure your wedding date, simply reach out via our contact form to check availability. We’ll schedule a quick call to hear about your plans. Once you are ready to go ahead, a £200 deposit locks in your date and makes everything official. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding and can be paid easily by credit/debit card or bank transfer.

Are you insured and do you have backup equipment?

Absolutely. As professional wedding photographers, we take the responsibility of capturing your day seriously. We are fully insured with both public liability and professional indemnity insurance. We also shoot with dual memory card slots (instantly backing up your photos as we click) and carry professional backup cameras to ensure your memories are safe.

What happens if you are ill or can't make it?

We will move mountains to ensure we capture your wedding. In the extremely rare event that one of us is too ill to attend, the benefit of being a duo is that the other can still cover your day. We are also part of a trusted network of professional Essex and Suffolk wedding photographers who can step in at short notice to ensure your day is covered to the same high standard if this does happen.

How long does it take to receive our wedding photos?

We know you are excited to see your images, so we send a selection of sneak peeks within a couple of days of the wedding! Your full, professionally edited gallery is typically ready within 6–8 weeks (often sooner during quieter months). All images are delivered via a secure online gallery where you can view, download, and share high-resolution photos with family.

How many photos will we get?

We don’t put a strict cap on the number of photos. It varies depending on the length of your day, the weather, and your guest list size, but typically you can expect between 300 and 800 beautifully edited images. We don’t hold back good photos! Plus, every wedding includes a photo film slideshow set to music to help you relive the magic.

Do you provide prints or albums?

Yes. Inside your private online gallery, you will find an easy-to-use print store where you can design and order fine art albums, prints, and wall art. If you need a hand designing an album after the wedding, just let us know. We love helping bring your photos into the real world.

Still have questions?

No problem! We are here to answer anything we might have missed. It is generally easiest to contact us on WhatsApp, email or social media.
